Walden Day Care Centre is unique in many ways.
We offer a variety of programs that aren't typical of a childcare centre.
The transition from Toddlers to Preschool can be a little stressful on children and parents alike, spending numerous months with their friends and educators, often the very first "home away from home".
With this in mind, we have created a Junior Preschool Program, which is adjacent to the Toddler program.
Divided by only a half wall and a change table counter, the Toddlers are able to visit the Junior Preschool program and able to familiarize themselves with the children and staff.
Routines such as lunch time, outdoor play, sleep time and snacks are held at the same time, allowing for some consistency from program to program.
Circles, creative, outdoor activities, songs and finger plays are all geared to the Junior Preschool age group, but the most important aspect is the fact that ratios for Toddler age are maintained in Junior Preschool, allowing for equal attention for these still-very young children.
By the time your child is ready to "graduate" to Preschool, they indeed are ready and able to do so with little or no stress at all.
In fact many times they're just waiting to enter the double doors to Preschool and to their new, exciting environment.
