Centre Base Program

- Accommodates children 16 months to 4 years.
- Doors are open from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday to Friday.
The daily routine at the Centre varies according to the age group and program each child is involved in.
Generally the days’ activities follow a regular sequence which provides a feeling of security in knowing what to expect and when to expect it.
The children are greeted upon entering the daycare and are then allowed the freedom to explore, and participate in the many changing activities and creative centers.
Every day each group has scheduled outdoor play, circle times, active playtimes in the gym and rest or quiet periods.
Meals and snacks are consistently a variety of fun, tasty and nutritious foods which are anticipated by all the children.
Throughout it all, the Educators are always nearby to lend quiet support, or active encouragement, to tell a story or sing a song, or even just to give a hug.
Childhood Illnesses
One of the realities of raising children is that from time to time childhood illnesses will arise.
In a childcare setting where there are many children together, a cold, the chicken pox or any other contagious condition can spread very quickly.
Our Centers’ priority is to ensure that your children will not be in contact with children who have a contagious disease; therefore it is the agency’s policy to exclude ill children from regular day care activities.
At Walden Day Care, Educators and parents work as a team in order to ensure the ”wellness” of everyone’s children. Having a sick child can be very stressful for parents who have employment or educational commitments, therefore we have initiated a program for “mildly-ill” children called Teddies ‘n Jammies.
Children can spend a relaxing day in a quiet program geared to meet the needs of “under the weather” children. As the name implies they can wear their jammies and cuddle their favorite teddy bear while they recover.
This program is equipped with a comfortable bed, snuggle toys and other equipment conducive to quiet relaxed play.
As mentioned, our agency is also in a partnership with many of the local schools.

St James Catholic School, located at 280 Anderson Dr. in Lively,offers programs for children ages 4-12years. Before and After school program as well as full day care provided on PA days and school holidays is also available. We are licenced for 65 children at this site.
Walden Public School, at 249 - 6th Ave. in Lively, offers child care for children aged 4 – 12 years. Before and After school program as well as full day care provided on PA days and school holidays is also available. We are licenced for 119 children at this site.
Copper Cliff Public School, located at 50 School St. in Copper Cliff has a Before and After school program operating for children 4 – 12 years old. We also run full day programming on PA days and school holidays. We are licenced for 31 children at this site.
Ecole St. Paul, located at 185 Sixth Ave in Lively, offers a before and after school program for children ages 4 to 12 years old. Also, there is a Toddler and Preschool program for children 18 months - 4 years old. These programs are offered Monday - Friday. We are licenced folr 58 children at this site.
